Bicester 1st XV produced an outstanding display on Easter Monday to beat Princes Risborough 46-15 in the BBO Premier.
Following a heavy 51-12 defeat to Swindon on Saturday – where Alex Benjamin and Dan Spencer scored tries – Bicester bounced straight back with a sparkling eight-try victory over neighbours Risborough.
Early pressure from the visitors was rewarded with a try from Tom Slade but in reply Dom Southey helped send Dickie Walsh racing over on the right.
Midway through the first half, Bicester went ahead when Spencer touched down left of the posts.
Liam Roads replied for Risborough with an unconverted try but Bicester blew the visitors away with a devastating second half display.
It took just minutes to extend the lead as Will Anns sent Dave Ahu-Gooch on a powerful drive down field and he set up Jake Holdsworth for a try converted by Steve Risbridger.
Southey quickly followed suit for Bicester’s fourth try before Spencer crashed over for his second score of the afternoon.
In a totally one-sided half, Bicester increased their lead through Will Hammond while Anns and Risbridger both scored late on to complete an emphatic victory.
