Blackthorn horse breeder, Katarina Burden, had a successful outing at the Baileys Horse Feeds/ British Breeding/British Equestrian Federation (BEF) Futurity held at Solihull Riding Centre.

The BEF Futurity Evaluation series aims to identify British bred young potential sport horses and ponies destined for careers in dressage, eventing, show-jumping or endurance, and possible Olympic champions.

Katarina bred and owns colt foal, Silvesters Midday Cowboy, who scored an elite premium of 9.00 in the showjumping section at Solihull. An elite premium indicates that the horse has the potential to compete at international level.

Katarina bought Silvesters Midday Cowboy’s dam, Findon Findependence, to showjump. She said: “Findon Findependence is very well bred. I bought her as a showjumping prospect to compete but I just haven’t had the time so I put her in foal to Silvester. I am very pleased with the Silvesters Midday Cowboy.”
