Buckingham 2nd XV earned a well deserved 25-14 victory at Oxford Harlequins 2nd XV.
The visitors were prepared for a tough contest but they began well with Hawker kicking a penalty following good pressure.
Buckingham maintained their pressure, which resulted in an Oxford mistake from a line-out that allowed Harkins to cross unopposed for a try converted by Hawker.
Yet again Buckingham came surging forward into the home side’s half as an excellent break into the 22 allowed the backs to make their way to the try line before Clark crossed on the right to give Buckingham a 15-0 lead.
Finally Harlequins managed to reverse the pressure and it told as they crossed for an opening try but Buckingham responded superbly with Hawker crossing out wide on the stroke of half time.
The second half was a more even affair but it was Buckingham who scored again with Reynolds going over.
Harlequins ended the match on the front foot and managed to grab a second try but Buckingham had already done enough to secure a fine victory.
