Buckingham Ladies Hockey Club’s IIs team enjoyed a fabulous evening at the England Hockey Awards Dinner, held at the Madejski Stadium in Reading over the weekend, where they were presented with the Women’s Team of the Year award for 2015.

The team won the award following a magnificent 2014/15 season as well as an outstanding hockey history.

Buckingham IIs have won every league title since their inception in 2008, winning promotion seven times in just six seasons. They have gone 100 games without defeat, scored over 1,000 goals and even in the year that they gained double promotion, they still won the league the following season, again going through the campaign unbeaten and finishing with a goal difference of more than 200.

The team offer excellent development opportunities with many of their players going on to play for Buckingham’s first team, who play in the Investec Premier Division, while also bringing up young players from the club’s IIIs.

This is an incredible achievement for the club, especially when compared with the likes of Reading, Canterbury, Sonning and Surbiton, who are all massive clubs with members into the thousands.

Buckingham IIs will now play in Regional South League next season after winning Trysports Premier One.
