HELEN Parr netted a hat-trick to help Towcester Ladies first team romp to a 6-0 thrashing against struggling Olton.

Playing with a new formation, Tows got off to a flyer as precision passing saw Parr open the scoring early on from a well-worked short corner.

Olton struggled to keep up with Towcester’s lightening attacking play and they conceded again when Lisa Groves smashed in a cross which found Parr, who put away her second.

Jo Walker then showed some superb skill to make it 3-0 at half time.

Tows continued to dominate after the break with Walker slotting in a second goal while Parr grabbed her hat-trick.

Hannah Edwards finished off the scoring in the latter stages to record Towcester’s first win of the season, which moves the first team up to seventh in the Midlands Premier Division.

Towcester face a local derby this Saturday when they host second-in-the-table Northampton Saints first team with the match kicking off at 1pm.

Towcester Ladies second team fought back from 2-0 down against Stone to draw 3-3 after a late equaliser.

A slow start saw Tows go behind through two quick goals before Laura Abbott halved the deficit when she smashed in from a free hit.

That goal spurred Towcester on and gave them belief in the second half with Nicola Pannell easily putting away a short corner.

Stone then caught Tows on the break to go 3-2 up but the home side remained undeterred and they penned Stone back until Lisa Groves struck home a deserved equaliser.

Meanwhile, Towcester third team were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Kettering in an end-to-end match.

Dot Armstrong got Tows off to a good start – scoring from a well-worked short corner – but Kettering scored two goals while Towcester failed to take their chances.
