RACING fans will be able to get back into the saddle on Monday when a special fixture is held at Towcester Racecourse.
Following a large number of abandonments because of the bad weather, the British Horseracing Authority has programmed an extra fixture to take place at Towcester on Monday with a first race scheduled for 12.55pm.
Fans will be able to enter for free when the gates open at 11am.
The management at Towcester applied for the additional meeting and won the fixture by putting in a stronger bid than six other courses and also contributed to the prize money with an additional £13,000 creating a total prize fund of £38,000.
BHA racing manager, Stuart Middleton said: “The increased prize money enabled the BHA to programme a much stronger card than would otherwise have been the case and includes a feature race with prize money of £10,000.”
The next weekend meeting at Towcester is Sunday, January 23.
