Gould shines for Bicester AC

Bicester Athletics Club took 35 runners to Swindon for the penultimate round of the Oxford Mail Cross County League.

First up was the U11 Girls race with some strong performances from the Bicester contingent, including Amy Gould who finished third over the 1,200m course in a time of 4.37 minutes, putting her third in the overall standings.

Maisie Silvester also remains in contention in overall fifth and she ran another fine race to place sixth in 4.57mins.

Other finishers were: Millie Couzens (10th in 5.01), Amelia Cox (11th in 5.04), Katie Ford 44th, Tomoka Moore 46th, Erin WcWhinnie 53rd, Lucy Stowell 21st, Lauren Garside 26th, Freya Smith 28th, Molly Action 35th, Emilia Sims 40th, Paige Scarlett 48th and Tia Faulkner 58th.

In the U11 boy’s race, Tom Couzens took seventh in 4.27 minutes for the 1,200m course while Lucas Davis came 15th (4.48) and he was only three seconds clear of Billy England.

Other Bicester runners included: Freddie Taylor (4.57) 17th, Michael Cadle (5.24) 32nd, William Sims 21st, George Starkey-Walker 32nd, Samuel Worfolk 36th, James Rendell 37th, Henry Lay 49th, Cameron Scarlett 51st and Matthew McDonald 57th.

Sophie Wheeler lies 11th overall in the U13 competition after placing 14th in 10.13 minutes over the 2000m. Other Bicester finishers included Erin Higginbottom 27th, Ellie Lawrie 31st and Kerry Hickman 32nd

Tom Gould ran another fine race in the U15/17 boys’ race as he placed 18th in 20.28 while Jonty Renk was 26th in the same race (24.05).

Kieran Bird was Bicester’s sole representative in the U13 boy’s race (18th in10.17) and Ellie Faulkner was like-wise in the U15/17 girl’s race (30th in 20.40).
