Buckingham Rugby Club continued their progress towards their first league game next week with two more pre-season victories.
The first victory came under the Maids Moreton floodlights when they defeated Bletchley, who are a league higher than Buckingham, 33-31.
Bletchley opted to start with almost their first XV while Buckingham coach Alan Lane chose to rotate his squad before finally fielding his strongest XV in the last quarter, scoring three well worked tries in the process.
On Saturday, the game against Leicester Forest was a more scrappy game with many mistakes by both sides.
The visitors took the lead after only three minutes as missed tackles gave them a seven-point advantage, which they held well into the second quarter before Sam Laird scored two quick tries to put Buckingham in front.
Neither side managed to seize the initiative but Buckingham did score again through Jamie Lee before Forest had the last word with their second try, closing the gap to 15-12.
More worrying for Buckingham was what could be a long lay off for Andy Turvey as he was stretchered off with a serious knee injury.
Tomorrow, Buckingham 1st XV host Brackley at 3pm for a final pre-season match while the second XV travel the short distance to Brackley.
