Ladies open Shield campaign with a win

BUCKINGHAM Ladies opened their 2012 Bucks Challenge Shield Campaign with a win over Mentmore on Saturday, June 2.

Kerry Summer was first out and set the tone with a 2&1 victory before Mo Dawson, Jayne Collins and Janine Stirrat secured the victory.

Also on Saturday, Captain Chris Wilkes led Buckingham to a 4-2 victory at Bedford & County.

In club competitions, the men’s midweek Stableford was won by Club Steward Scott Parker with an impressive 42 points. Robin Long took second while Lee Thorne was third.

On Saturday the men competed for the Brackley Cup and, after a tight contest, the honours went to Andrew Miscampbell on countback.

Finally, on Sunday, Tony Lee emerged the winner of the Dr Stableford competition with 36 points ahead of Morgan Stokes and Mick Faulkner.
