Buckingham Hockey Club’s IIs are four points clear at the top of Trysports Premier Two after a 4-0 win over bottom of the table Windsor.
Kicking off late due to the awful weather conditions, Buckingham started well and dominated from the off, causing danger down both sides, however their attacks were thwarted by some stubborn Windsor defending.
The breakthrough was inevitable, though, and it arrived on 15 minutes when Sophie Tuckett calmly converted a penalty flick to put the visitors ahead.
Still dominating play, it was not until five minutes from half-time when Buckingham doubled their lead through Jaz Needham, whose reverse-stick finish gave her side a 2-0 lead at the midway point.
The rain, hail and wind took over at half time, delaying the start of the second half, but Buckingham remained dominant, adding a third through Andrea Freshwater, before Ford Player of the Match, Kirsty Freshwater, weaved her way down the right and then flicked the ball past the goalkeeper.
Buckingham never looked in any danger at the other end with defenders Issy Honor, Lauren Thomas, Sophie Tuckett and Hannah Knox solid all game
