Bicester AC and Alchester Running Club’s Andy Reading 10k attracted 380 finishers from across the South of England earlier this month.
The race is run in honour of one of the founder members of Bicester AC, Andy Reading, and continues to raise thousands of pounds for worthy charities with this year’s beneficiary, Macmillan.
Oxford City AC athlete Steve Male took victory in 33.23 minutes, beating James Eve into second while Samantha Amend ran 36.47 minutes to put her a comfortable three minutes ahead of Laura Jones.
Oxford City AC continued their good day when they bagged victories in two other categories as Dave Parson claimed the over 60 prize and Gwyneth Hueter grabbed victory in the vet 55 category in 45.43. In the vet 50 male category, Peter Scrowther was a comfortable winner.
Alchester had 10 runners take part, with Shaun O’Gorman leading the way in an impressive 38 minutes for 37th place. Other Alchester finishers were: Josh Parker (43.23), Claire Court (47.28), Stephen Howard (49.28), Annelies Henshall (51.30), Nigel Lambert (52.00), Sam Suter (54.22), Hazel Howard (55.48), Clare Burnby (60.42) and Gillian Warson (61.49).
