IAN Mead produced a powerful ride to record a sub-13 minute time and win the A5 Rangers Cycling Club five-mile time-trial.
Despite the strong headwind, Ian won comfortably in a time of 12.47 mins, which was 1.30 mins ahead of runner-up Murray Kirton.
In third place was Harry Warner, the full result is as follows: Ian Mead 12.47, Murray Kirton 14.17, Harry Warner 14.32, Jonny Anders 14.36, Martin Smith 15.06, Mike McGillion 16.35.
In other news, a puncture with two and a half laps to go in the third stage of the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists two-day stage race at Fowlmead denied Murray Kirton of a high overall finishing position.
With a win in the first stage prologue and a third place on the second stage Murray looked set for a win in his category.
But his puncture with less than three laps to go meant he could not have a lap out and therefore could not contest the bunch sprint.
He did change his wheel however and rode to the finish securing third place overall.
