Silver for in-form young star

BICESTER & District Gymnastics Club’s young gymnast Alice Walder has picked up a silver medal at the Oxfordshire Gymnastic Association’s County Championships.

Alice was on excellent form finishing with an impressive 43.70 point total for Level 5 Out of Age. She had the highest beam score with 10.80 as well as a third place on both vault and A-bars.

Fellow level 5 Bicester gymnasts Rushani Arumugham (sixth on Vault and tied seventh on bars), Amy Gould and Kitty Holt (fifth and sixth respectively on both beam and floor) also performed well.

Others results: Level 4 seniors, Olivia Stock and Tessa McCormack tied sixth overall, Tessa scoring 11.45 and placing first on the vault; Level 4 juniors - Heidi Gilje (ninth), Tobi Stevens (sixth on vault), Christy Llewellyn (sixth on both beam and floor) and Zara Kimber (eighth on beam); Level 3, Amy Chapman sixth overall, second on A-bars, Annabelle Clifton and Katie Harris fifth and sixth respectively in the balance beam.

Alice, Amy Gould, Christy Llewellyn, Heidi Gilje and Amy Chapman all scored over the 40 points to qualify for the Southern Region Finals on September 22 and 23.
