Towcestrians 1st XV went into the Christmas break in buoyant mood after racking up a dominant 67-5 victory over Northampton BBOB that put them into the semi-finals of the Alliance Cup.
The BBOB side put in a fine effort as they refused to back down from the relentless Tows barrage.
The visitors proved too strong, however, with winger Aaron Goodman running in a hat-trick in an 11-try rout. Dunkley also scored on his debut.
Towcestrians resume their league campaign on Saturday, January 4, at home to fifth-placed Maidenhead. Tows will go into the New Year still hopeful of promotion despite losing their last league game to Grove – they currently lie third in South West One East, five points behind second-placed Windsor.
Elsewhere at the weekend, Towcestrians IIIs recorded a 27-17 victory away at Wellingborough IIIs, while Tows Colts were 12-0 winners over Higham Colts.
