Tuesday saw Chandos Park’s first fixture of the season when the women lost to the ladies of Wolverton Park by one shot, 32-33.
Thursday’s brought more success when June Lawrence, Jean Nicholls, Jean Sharp and Margaret Langley-Roberts travelled to Stony Stratford in the County 4’s and won 20-14.
And Saturday morning saw June Lawrence and Diane Form travelling to Bletchley St Martins to face a home pairing in the national over 55’s winning 19-17 to progress to the next round.
But it was not to be for Chandos Men as they went down by two to three, Bob Reynolds and John McAndrew winning their games.
Also in the afternoon Chandos Park visited Wolverton Park in a mixed match, winning by one shot. And on Sunday it was Brackley who visited, with Chandos again coming through victorious, 77-60.
Elsewhere West End took on Bradwell in an away fixture on Saturday.
But despite wins for the rinks of Arthur Raynor, Colin Osbourne and Pat Costello by 15-11, and Herbie Taylor, Pam How and Geoff Shaw by 24-10 the visitors went down 68-87.
Captain Les Newcombe lead Winslow Bowls Club team, to its first away victory, against his old club of Bicester, winning four out of five rinks of triples last Saturday.
The final result saw Winslow triumph 85-61, with wins for B Gibson, C Geary and J Hancock by 16-12; G Saunders, P Corcoran and D Birch by 13-9; J Wass, L Ward and L Newcombe by 22-15 and A Hill, R Galvin and D Parrott by 21-11.
