Buckingham Town boss Chris Robson hit out at the match officials over the sending-off of Tony Fields in Saturday’s 3-0 UCL Division One defeat at Lutterworth.

The Robins were only trailing 1-0 and very much in the game against the leaders when Field was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident after 50 minutes.

And Robson said: “In the second half we didn’t get going and the sending off kills us.

“I didn’t see the incident, but I was angry at the officials. The ref didn’t see it either, but his linesman, who missed everything in the first half and couldn’t keep up with play, suddenly gained x ray vision to see an incident 50 yards away!

“We were poor the second half, so I am not blaming the officials for the result, but all you ask for is a bit of consistency.”

Buckingham are at home to Rushden & Higham on Saturday, and Robson admitted: “I am concerned about our form and we got to start picking up points quickly. We have a run of two games a week until Christmas, and it’s important we start winning some games”.
