Rocking Horse lead the way in Shield KO

DARTS: There were eight matches played in the Trevor Stanton Challenge Shield Knockout second round last Thursday in the Buckingham & Winslow league.

The team in second place in Division One, Rocking Horse of Towcester, overcame Two Brewers B 8-1, fifth in Division Three, to reach the quarter-finals.

Also through to the last eight are Swan A, third in Division One, who won 9-0 away at Division Four basement team, Great Horwood Cricket Club B.

Leaders of Division Two, Brackley FC, won 6-3 over Cuckoos Nest, fifth in Division Two.

All five of the remaining matches were 5-4 results, Two of these were home wins, New Inn C won 5-4 over Whale B and Crown Twyford beat Buckingham Arms 5-4,

The remaining 3 matches were 5-4 away wins, Stratton Arms won at Swan B, Three Cups D won at Blackbird, and Phoenix beat Buckingham Cricket Club away.

There was also one league match played on January 6, which brought forward from Thursday February 3,enabling a postponed match to be played on this date.

New Inn A have gone back to the top of Division One after winning 8-1 at Great Horwood Cricket Club A,

New Inn have 85 points from nine wins out of nine played,

GHCC A are at the base of Division One with 37 points.

Any team who have not yet entered pairs into the Alwyn Knibbs Doubles KO must have entries sent to the secretary by Saturday January 15.

This competition will be played on Thursday January 27.
