NICO Rosberg scored further points for the Brackley-based Petronas Mercedes-Benz team in Turkey last weekend when the 2011 FIA F1 World Championship continued at the Istanbul Park track, write Colin and James Beckett.
Third fastest in qualifying, Rosberg again outperformed his multiple world championship winning team-mate, Michael Schumacher, in a race that was dominated by the Red Bull-Renault duo of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.
Rosberg may not have been able to finish the 58-lap race in the position he started, but fifth was a good result for the German driver.
Schumacher however again looked a shadow of his former self. Eighth in practice, Grand Prix racing’s most successful drive slipped to twelfth at the finish after losing time during the race due to a collision with the Renault of Vitaly Petrov.
Silverstone’s Kingfisher Force India struggled throughout the weekend, with Adrian Sutil reaching the finish in thirteenth. Paul di Resta was a non-finisher.
