Open Day for Bucks women rugby players

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE Rugby Clubs are currently looking for talented female athletes aged 17 and older as well as rugby players of all experience levels to represent their clubs and Bucks RFU in County rugby.

Through a club fast track initiative, they are aiming to identify female athletes to engage in our performance programme in preparation of the 2012/13 season.

There will be development days at Marlow RFC on Saturday, July 14, from 11.30am-1.30pm and at Buckingham RFC on Saturday, August 4, between 11.30am and 1.30pm. Female athletes from all backgrounds and sports are welcome to attend the day, which will be a series of assessments based on basic fitness, hand eye coordination and some rugby specific skill elements.

It is hoped to introduce, where practical, an individual player development, specialist coaching, squad weekends, medical protocols and conditioning programmes.
