Silverstone gearing up to host big race

SILVERSTONE circuit is gearing up to host the fourth round of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship on August 24-26.

The 6-Hours of Silverstone will see 37 endurance vehicles line-up on the grid, with 23 Le Mans prototypes and 14 Grand Touring

Endurance entries, making the event Britain’s biggest sportscar race of the year.

Seven British teams and 16 British Drivers will be competing, including World Champion and F1 commentator Martin Brundle.

There will be a host of entertainment on offer, such as stunt shows from Team Extreme and aerial displays.

There will also be a Top Gear experience, which uses simulation technology as fans will have the chance to virtually climb into the likes of a Bugatti Veyron driven by the Stig. As for the younger fans, there will trampolines and other activities.
