Rob Large struck a magnificent 122 from 89 balls as Buckingham Town earned a winning draw against league leaders Horspath.
Horspath won the toss and chose to put Buckingham into a bat, a decision that seemed to pay off immediately with Buckingham reaching 17-0 in the seventh over amid three rain breaks and an early tea.
The match finally got going at 4pm, with Large looking comfortable at the crease but Lee Mason and Will Eason shared three wickets with the new ball as the visitors reached 61-3 in the 19th over.
In an attempt to increase the run-rate, Callum Price was promoted up the order and, along with Large, he took the Horspath bowling attack apart.
The pair put on a stunning partnership of 142 in just 15 overs with both batsmen peppering the boundaries before Adam Krol eventually removed Price for 74 from 51 balls, including four sixes.
However, Price carried on his attack on the home bowlers and finally finished on 122 not out having hit seven sixes, as Buckingham declared on 232-4 from 35 overs.
In reply, Robbie Eason (42) and James Phillips (44) scored at run-a-ball and put on 97 for the first wicket as Horspath threatened to chase down the target before Wayne Platts bowled a tight opening spell to frustrate the two home batsmen.
And it was Patts who claimed the first wicket when Eason was caught on the boundary to give Buckingham a much-needed breakthrough, before Jack Parish had Phillips stumped in the next over to stunt the run chase.
Patrick Foster (53) played well at number three for Horspath, but two more wickets for Parish saw the hosts finish on 182-4 from 28 overs.
Parish finished with 3-65, while Platts took 1-36 from 10 overs as Buckingham took 15 points from the match while Horspath took four.
The result sees Buckingham remain fourth in Cherwell Cricket League Division One, despite not having won a match yet this season.
