Buckingham Town 1st XI picked up their fourth win of the season with a three-wicket victory over Oxford Downs.
After being put into bat, Oxford Downs got off to a quick start, scoring at five-an-over in the first 10 overs for the loss of skipper Jason Cantrill for 17.
With the score on 48, Callum Price took a sharp caught and bowled to remove Crouch for 14 before Simon Myatt took three wickets in three overs to reduce the visitors to 61-5.
James Gear then chipped in with a wicket to leave Oxford Downs disarray at 66-6 before James Ellwood and Nick Rivett added 28.
A risky single saw Rivett run out for eight but the momentum switched completely as Ellwood found support in Rafiq (17) and Beer (21 not out) as he steered Oxford Downs towards a competitive score.
Just as he looked set for a deserved century, Jack Parish took a return catch off his own bowling to remove him for 98, but Beer and Smart guided the away side to 217-9 at the close of their innings.
Steve Brunning got the Buckingham reply off to a fluent start, but he was caught behind for 19.
Rob Large (36) and Ash Pearson (15) came together and were making the run chase look comfortable before they both fell in consecutive over to loose shots, quickly followed by Simon Myatt for 12.
At 111-4 the innings wobbled but in-form Callum Price and Ben Laycock steadied the innings with a partnership of 58.
However, when Price was dismissed for 41, it sparked another flurry of wickets as three went down for 11 runs.
With 37 still to win, Jason Ell came in and took 16 from one over to tilt the balance back towards the hosts before Laycock hit the winning runs to finish 46 not out. Ell was 21 not out.
