Last Sunday’s Wallace Cup, the opening round of the 2014 ACU S3 Parts National Trial Championship, was just one of many sporting events to fall foul of the weather.
Winslow’s Alexz Wigg was forced to sit out a week of competition as a result of the postponement, but he can now look ahead to the next round of the ACU sanctioned series that takes place on March 2 after being announced as one of the entrants on the official entry list published this week.
Organised by the Stratford-upon-Avon Motorcycle Club, the Colmore Cup has a rich heritage and a history that dates back over a hundred years. The event is well known for offering a tough test to the motorcyclist and after recent heavy rain, conditions on the 2014 event will be far from easy.
The official seeding for the trial will take place early next week, but Wigg ranks high on the list published this week and knows he will start as one of the favourites against a strong number of riders including the 2013 winner of the Colmore Cup, Sam Connor.
The reigning Colmore Cup holder will ride a Beta machine, while Wigg will ride his regular GasGas UK machine.
