Buckingham Town 3rds maintained their 100% winning record with a comprehensive victory over Cumnor 3rds last Saturday in Cherwell League Division Seven.
Skipper Mark James won the toss and put the visitors into bat on a pitch of variable bounce. Some lusty blows and a degree of fortune saw Cumnor reach 95-0 off just 14 overs, a dominant position. From that moment Buckingham turned the tables and totally dominated.
Matt Dipple put in an outstanding bowling spell of 8-60 from 17 overs with good support from Mark James, 2-30. Ten wickets fell for the addition of only 47 runs with Cumnor all out for 142.
Openers Adrian Freeman and Ade Johnson put together a stand of 77 for the first wicket with Freeman departing after a fluent 41. Russell Thompson made good use of the opportunity to bat at nuumber three and contributed 25 not out in an unbroken stand of 66 to see Town home to a nine-wicket victory. Ade Johnson with 10 boundaries and a towering six over long off finished unbeaten on 58.
With maximum points from two games and increased player availability Town are optimistic of another successful season and possible back-to-back promotions.

After reaching 71 Leighton lost three quick wickets and were happy to close at 164-8. The pick of Town’s bowlers was Dom Pritchard 4-42 from 19 overs well supported by Richard Pengelly, 2-39, and Chris Coates 2-46.
Twyford, fourth in Division Three, lost at leaders Oxford Downs 2nds. Twyford posted 208, with Nadeem hitting 64. In reply Oxford totalled 210-5, Daniel unbeaten on 78. Hussain took 3-55 for Twyford.
In Division Nine, Brackley 2nds lost at Horspath IV. Brackley posted 175, Tudor Price hitting 54 and Hollyoake 30. Herman grabbed 3-25.
Horspath eased to 178-3, Briggs starring with 51 not out.
