Silverstone’s Delta-ADR have been preparing for the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) by testing their Oreca-Nissan car in Spain this week.

Runners-up in the LMP2 category of the WEC in 2012, Delta-ADR used the Spanish test to develop their car and engine package and evaluate tyres ahead of the season-opening race at Silverstone next month.

A team spokesman said: “We are working hard to build on the success we enjoyed last season. Our aim is to win the LMP2 world title this year and this test will help us to further establish our pace prior to the official WEC test at Paul Ricard later this month.”

John Martin, lead driver for Delta-ADR, added: “It was great to be back in the car. I have been in Australia during the off-season and I am pleased to be back in the ‘office’ to prepare for the new season.”

Toyota have also been in action in Spain, testing their V8-powered hybrid car over long distance runs. Brackley’s Anthony Davidson will again race for the Japanese manufacturer in WEC events including the Le Mans 24-Hour Race.
