Winslow’s Alexz Wigg will start Sunday’s Wallace Cup Trial near Didcot as one of the favourites for victory.

Riding a GasGas machine, Wigg is one of the leading entries for the opening round of the 2014 ASC S3 Parts National Trial Championship, an event that has attracted over 120 riders.

Starting from the Seymours Arena at Aston Tirrold, the multi-section event will see competitors compete in tests at the Aston Tirrold trial centre, as well as undertaking other sections locally reached via routes on the public highway.

Organisers of the Wallace Cup, the North Berks Motorcycle Club, have been forced to switch the start location for this weekend’s event from West Hagbourne due to flooding. Scrutineering, documentation and the opening sections will now take place at Seymours Arena, before riders move to other locations as the day progresses.

Wigg finished on the podium in the Berks Bonanza on his last competitive outing at Seymours Arena in a SuperTrial event, and he will compete alongside other leading riders this weekend. The entry also includes Sam Connor (Beta), Ross Danby (SXS Jotagas) and runner-up in the 2013 FIM Women’s World Championship, Emma Bristow (MRS Sherco).
