SOME of Blisworth's feathered friends showed off their plumage earlier this month when the village held its first chicken show.
Between 25 and 30 birds owned by village residents were put on display while a garden party was held in Blisworth Baptist Chapel, raising £650 for chapel funds.

Organiser Jane Percival said: "It was wonderful although it poured with rain.

"Luckily, the chapel has plenty of inside rooms so we were all accommodated.

"The chickens were a great success and were much admired by everybody.
"The chicken show was a really good crowd puller and I would recommend it to other organisations."

She added two of the chickens had even laid an egg during the show, and they were housed in proper showcages and were provided with food and bedding.
