A SHOPPING Extravaganza at Whittlebury Hall was visited by around 650 people and raised around £20,000 for Macmillan Cancer Relief last month.
Eight years ago six friends from Adstone, Banbury, Blakesley, Farthinghoe, Helmdon and Paulerspury organised a coffee morning and raised several hundred pounds for the cancer charity.

The event has grown to incorporate more than 50 stall holders selling everything from Italian leather bags and Norwegian kitchen storage ideas to clothes and children's toys.

Walton, spokesperson for the group of friends, said a lot of people were shopping for Christmas presents and attributed the event's success to the wide range of goods for sale.

The event raised £8,000 more than in 2007.
