CHILDREN in Greens Norton donned grass skirts and eye patches during a recent beach party.
The Rocking Horse Day Nursery staged the party and invited children to dress up as pirates, hula girls and mermaids.

Hidden messages in bottles contained clues for a treasure hunt leading to a stash of gold coins which they placed in special boxes they had made earlier in the day.

Nursery manager, Louise Brown, decided to organise the party after children returned from foreign holidays with their imaginations full of pirates and adventures in exotic lands.

She added: "The children had a great time and really entered into the spirit of things."
