POLICE are appealing for witnesses in connection with an unexplained death of a 21-year-old man on Monday.

At about 4.50pm, the man fell into the Grand Union Canal at Stoke Bruerne, near to the Boat Inn public house. He was helped out of the canal but subsequently collapsed and died at an address in Greatworth.

There is no evidence to suggest there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.

Police however are preparing a report for the coroner and would like to hear from anyone who saw the man fall into the canal at Stoke Bruerne late on Monday afternoon. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 03000 111 222.
