A FIRE crew from Towcester joined four other units as they fought a barn fire in Chapel Brampton near Northampton last night. (15/05)
At around 5.33pm firefighters were called to reports of a plume of smoke heading towards the village.

Three crews from Northampton were supported by the water carrier from Towcester and an operational unit from Wellingborough.

Residents were warned to close windows and doors after fears that the barn roof contained asbestos.

The fire was put out and residents were given the all clear. One crew remains at the scene to ensure the fire does not start again.
