POLICE have issued a warning after a 96-year-old woman from Yardley Gobion became the victim of a distraction burglary on Friday, October 10.
A man knocked at the door of her home in Warren Road sometime between 9am and 9.15am and told her he was from the water board and needed to check the water supply.

The woman let him in and while she was running the taps he took cash and left the house.

The man was white, of medium build, 5ft 10inches tall and clean-shaven, and aged between 35 and 40. He had short brushed-back fair hair and was wearing black trousers and a black padded jacket with white piping down the arms.

Officers from Northants Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen this man or who recognises his description.

Witnesses can contact police on 08453 700 700 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
