AKELEY Wood School under-16s showed their skills in an entertaining match against Canadian visitors Aldergrove Community Secondary School.
A large crowd of parents and pupils watched last Friday (14/03) as Akeley Wood ran out 40-5 victors in a competitive and free-flowing game.

A match dinner was held afterwards, with speeches from Akeley's headmaster and coaches and man of the match presentations were made to both teams.

On Saturday the Canadian tourists enjoyed a trip to Twickenham to watch England beat Ireland 33-10. A barbecue was held at Buckingham RFC on Sunday, organised by a number of Akeley parents.

Akeley Wood's rugby team visited Aldergrove near Vancouver in British Columbia last year on a rugby tour and were so thrilled with their hospitality, they invited the Aldergrove side back to play a match at the Bucks school as part of their UK rugby tour.

It is hoped that the Akeley Wood rugby team will return to Canada in Easter 2009 to renew friendships with Aldergrove.
