Photo slideshow: A selection of entries for the photo competition
THE Advertiser & Review and Specsavers Opticians in Bicester have teamed up to launch a competition to find the area's best amateur photographers.
Click Play to see a slideshow selection of some the photo competition entries submitted so far...Two winners will each take home a stunning Pentax digital SLR camera (pictured), worth more than £500.
The picture could be of anything, as long as it is Bicester-themed, whether it is traders on market day, gliders taking off from Bicester Airfield or just an example of the stunning scenery surrounding the town.
Entries will be taken in two age groups – under 21 and over 21 – and the winner from each will receive a Pentax digital K200D SLR camera and two runners up will win a pair of designer spectacle frames complete with Pentax single vision lenses.
Specsavers' store director Sarah Marshall said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for local amateur photographers to showcase their talent. We are very proud to be part of the local community in Bicester and are really looking forward to seeing some of the creative entries."
The competition will be judged by Specsavers staff and Advertiser & Review editor, Rob Gibbard. He said: "Although the images must be of Bicester, the competition is open to readers from across the Advertiser & Review region. There are some great picture opportunities out there and I cannot wait to see all the photos."
The deadline for entries has been extended to Friday, April 4, so there is even more time for amateur photographers from across the Advertiser & Review region to get their entries in. Entrants must provide contact details, including email address and mobile number, plus information about the picture.
We will showcase some of the best images in the paper and online at www.buckinghamtoday.co.uk. Digital images should be 1MB or less and emailed to editorial@buckinghamadvertiser.co.uk, with Photo Competition in the subject line. Alternatively, prints can be dropped into Specsavers in Crown Walk or posted to the paper at 61-62 Well Street, Buckingham, MK18 1EN. We cannot return entries and we are not responsible for entries lost in the post. The judges' decision is final. Full competition rules are available on request.
