THOUSANDS of visitors flocked to Weedon, near Aylesbury, on Thursday last week to see the annual Bucks County Show.
Livestock displays, showjumping, trade stands and other demonstrations were among the draws for visitors, as well as a display by the Bolddog Lings mini-motorcycle team, music from the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas and a classic tractor parade.

Ray Stollery, from the Bucks County Show, said around 20,000 people turned up to enjoy the event.

He said: "It was a very successful show. The livestock were back after a year away following the foot and mouth restrictions, and they were a great crowd puller. There were 280 cattle, and 240 sheep. We had a very good main ring display with the Bolddog Lings team and they were absolutely tremendous."

He added the trade stands also did well, as did many of the smaller traders in the marquee.

Livestock classes included Holstein and Jersey dairy cattle, Aberdeen-Angus, British Charolais, Hereford, Limousin, British Simmental and South Devon as well as sheep breeds Southdown, Wiltshire Horn, Charollais and rare and pure native breeds.

The home and garden categories included children's classes, home made wine, preserves, cakes, bread, handicrafts, photography, flowers and fruit and vegetables.

Trade stands included farm machinery, farming organisations, clothing and accessories, animal feed, alpaca breeders and charities.
