The day kicked off with a mini-Olympics which was followed by a treasure hunt around the village and a barbecue in the gardens of The Crown pub.

The fayre was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the Milton Keynes Pipe Band led a parade to the pub gardens with local Brownies, Guides and Scouts.

Musical entertainment was provided throughout the afternoon and there were horse and cart rides, displays from traction engines and a bus providing mystery tours around the countryside.

Chairman of the Granborough Charter Fayre committee Paul Butterwith, said: "It was busy throughout the afternoon and into the evening as well. There was a pig roast and activities going on in the pub garden.

"This year is our sixth year."

Local resident Karl McWhirter was appointed the new ceremonial mayor of Granborough, taking over from Colin Carter.
