The event, which was held on Bank Holiday Monday, saw an increase in visitors and a number of new attractions including heavy horse Ted Clydesdale, measuring 17.2 hands high.

Other highlights included sheep displays, the horse show, a larger number of craft and charity stalls, the popular novelty dog shows, Winslow Concert Band, a Punch and Judy show, and the vintage and classic car parade followed by an Olympics-themed fancy dress competition.

This year's fancy dress parade and competition was jointly won by Winslow Playgroup and Treetops Playgroup with Celia and Megan Havery winning the girls' fancy dress section and Dylan and Leo Standring winning the boy's fancy dress class.

The Swan pub beat The George in the tug-of-war and there were many entrants to the gymkhana, with the Veteran Horse class won by Laura Critchley riding Pendley Masquarade whilst the Young Handler section was won by Jessica Pierce with Master Bertie.

Mike Freeman, chairman of the Winslow Show Association, said: "This year's show was a fantastic success. Everyone has been waiting for some dry weather and a reason to get out and celebrate and Winslow Show was a great hit. Visitors started coming in droves from 10am onwards and by mid-afternoon there were queues to get into the showground."

He thanked those who had volunteered their time, including Winslow Lions, Winslow Rotary Club and the Scouts.
