For those who missed enjoying an evening in the company of Samuel Pepys at the Old Gaol earlier this month, there’s another chance to see the performance at York House, in Stony Stratford, at 8pm on Friday, June 7, as part of Stony Live!

Ayres and Graces is a fun evening of theatre and music, with John Alexander as Samuel Pepys and period music by Mr Simpson’s Little Consort

Pepys’ diaries provide a unique insight into London life in the 17th century.

Far from being a dry record of historical events, Pepys chronicles his day-to-day life through the restoration, plague and great fire, with no holds barred when it comes to his many extra-marital affairs.

In the true spirit of restoration theatre, eat, drink and be merry while Pepys delights you with tales of drinking, womanising, historical intrigue and bodily functions.

This is an adults-only evening, unsuitable for persons of a delicate constitution.

Tickets £10/£8. Call 01908 501942 or email sue@pierssnell.force9.co.uk
