Beer festival goes red, white and blue

THE first 36 people through the doors of this weekend’s Towcester Beer Festival dressed in red, white and blue will receive a free drink .

The annual beer festival at Towcestrians RFC will see clubhouse will be decked out with bunting, balloons and Union Flags in celebration of the Royal Wedding.

Next to the 40 real ales forming the beer festival there will be tug-o-war, a competition to judge the best bum in the 1st XV, live music, and a charity auction.

The auction includes a race day at Silverstone, a spa day for two at Whittlebury Hall, and family membership of Towcester Centre for Leisure.

All money raised from the auction, which is being organized by former pupils of Sponne School who are staging a reunion, will go towards Cancer Research UK.

The two day festival starts today, Friday April, 29 and the bar is open from midday. Entry is free and the price of a guest pint is £2.50.
