BRACKLEY town centre was filled with the sound of high energy dance music last weekend as hundreds of people took part in a charity event.
Around 340 dancers took part in the Zumbathon at Magdalen College School on Saturday watched by around 160 spectators who paid to see what all the fuss was about. Event organisers are still counting sponsorship and ticket receipts but hope to have raised £4,000 for Cystic Fibrosis, Down’s Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis and the British Heart Foundation.
Ceri Davies of Brackley Zumba Fitness said she has already fixed a date for a repeat next year and added: “I’m so thrilled with how it went, the atmosphere was electric and people were beaming from ear to ear for two hours straight. The best thing for me was seeing men, women and children of every age having a blast whilst supporting charity.”
