BRACKLEY celebrities have completed a full routine and are being told to let themselves go, as the town’s fund raising ballroom dancing competition continues.

Competitors in Strictly by Brackley have now learned the full cha cha cha routine and will spend next Tuesday’s session completing the waltz they will perform alongside a free-style routine during the two night public final in September.

Dancer Lesley Farmer from Cropedy has been with the Step by Step Dance School for three and a half years and has been partnered with Rotary Beer Festival organiser Chris Brennan.

She said: “It’s all going brilliantly. The celebrities are doing really well for the short time they’ve had.”

Mrs Farmer said the celebrities are picking up the choreography well and now was the time to start enjoying themselves.

She added: “Really they’ve just got let themselves go and enjoy it. New dancers are sometimes inhibited, always thinking am I looking silly? But really letting yourself go shows you are really enjoying it, and that shows in your face and body movement and that’s what it’s all about.”

Speaking about her partner Mrs Farmer said: “Chris needs to look into my eyes more and get a bit closer. He’s brilliant though, he’s really enthusiastic, a lot of fun, I’m lucky to have him.”

Sponsorship and proceeds from Strictly will go towards the mental health charity MIND in Brackley.
