CHILDREN at Buckingham Library were participating in the adventures of Gulliver on Tuesday.
Community engagement officer for Stowe Landscape Gardens Susan Le is pictured with the children acting out the story of the storm in which Gulliver’s ship runs aground on the island of Lilliput.
Miss Le told the children the tale of Gulliver’s adventures in the tiny country of Lilliput, then showed them how to use materials supplied to create a miniature garden to take home with them.
The children’s interpretations ranged from a rainbow garden and a jurassic garden to a train track garden! Miss Le said: “I told them, there’s no right and wrong, it’s their own little world.”
Buckingham Library regularly runs free activities for children during school holidays.
And on Thursday, March 3, it is having a special late-night opening to mark World Book Day. The library will be open until 9.30pm, with performances of poetry and songs by the Old Gaolers and free cocoa while you choose your books.
