ONE of Brackley’s Morris Men will be following in the footsteps of William Shakespeare’s jester when he dances from London to Norwich next month.

Tom Clare, of Highfield Court, who also works for the Direct Pizza Company, in Buckingham, will be Morris dancing the 120 miles between the two cities to raise money for a community vegetable garden in Brackley.

Mr Clare will be recreating Will Kempe’s Nine Daies Wonder, which took place in 1600, on February 11.

Kempe made his name as a jester as part of the Chamberlines Men, a group who formed Shakespeare’s inner circle.

After falling out with the playwright, Kempe danced from London to Norwich to steal public attention.
