ALL of the 400 tickets for Brackley’s fund raising ballroom and latin dance competition have been sold.
Step by Step dancer Sally Andrews has sold 180 of the 400 tickets available which went in three weeks.
Mrs Andrews said: “All the dancers have had at least two tickets each and a few extras for their supporters. But mainly they have gone to people outside the competition from far afield as Deddington, Oxford and Banbury.”
Mrs Andrews said her partner David Dorwood, a personal trainers and former member of the Parachute Regiment, is proving a big draw.
She added: “I’ve sold some tickets to friends, I thought they wanted to see me, but they‘re saying they’re coming to see David because he’s so gorgeous .”
Viv Rhymes, senior dance tutor said: “Friends have been asking me for tickets, but they’re all gone, not even I can get any.”
It was announced this week that Sky Sports News presenter Mike Wedderburn will host the event on Saturday evening and championship dancers Andrea Law and David Roberts will compere the Sunday evening.
Sponsorship and profits from ticket sales will be donated to the MIND mental health charity who hope to set up a support service in Brackley. Semi-professional dancers from Step by Step Dance School have been practising with their celebrity partners building up to a two night final starting, Saturday, September 3.
