TICKETS for the first Strictly by Brackley are expected to go quickly after they went on sale this week.

Organisers of the fund raising ballroom dance competition starring the great and the good of Brackley have seen similar events sell out within 24 hours.

Local celebrities and their semi professional dancers from the Step by Step dance school took part in their second three hour training session this week moving on from the basics of the cha cha cha and waltz they learned in the first week.

They were given first option on the tickets for the two night grand final at Waynflete Hall at Magdalen College School during the first weekend in September.

Each night the hall can seat 200 in the audience and already half the tickets for the first night and a quarter for the Sunday have been sold.

Brackley Mayor Theo Hayward is one of those taking part and the event will raise money for her chosen charity, MIND in Brackley.

Apart from overheads proceeds from the ticket sales and sponsorship gathered by the dancers will go towards the charity and already celebrities have gathered nearly £1,000.

Viv Rhymes, Step by Step senior instructor said: “Tickets sales are outstanding, they’re going to be like gold dust.”

Tickets cost £15 and can be bought from Sally Andrews on 07980945739, Irene Bennett at Brackley Town Hall and Mayor Theo Hayward.
