MORE than 40 floats and groups will be taking to the streets of Buckingham on December 10 for the town’s annual Christmas Parade.

The parade, which celebrated its silver jubilee year in 2009, has grown from strength to strength, drawing visitors from as far away as Nottingham and London.

This year will see 47 entrants, all dressed in the theme of Disney and for the first time, there will be five bands providing music including the Brackley and District Band.

While waiting for the parade to start, there will be the usual attractions including a roundabout in the Bull Ring, especially for the children.

Organisers Steve and Rosemary Heywood, said: “Two years ago we held the 25th Silver Jubilee Parade which, with special attractions, was anticipated to be the ultimate but however, as time has moved on the event has grown from strength to strength.

“We have five bands in all which, together with all the other music, makes this year’s parade the most musical ever. So much so the committee have taken special care in spacing out all entries so that music does not clash.

“Finally please pray for a fine day – the only thing out of our control.”

All roads on the route will be closed at 10.30am. Make sure your vehicle is not left in the wrong place overnight to avoid being towed away.
