THERE will be Madness at sunset this Saturday evening during the inaugural Festival in the Park.
As one of the first events in the wider Brackley Music Festival fortnight the Brackley Park festival will feature local musicians including Harry Pane and Brackley’s Got Talent winner Jamie Grimshaw.
It will run from midday until 10.30pm and as the sun goes down ska tribute band Hope and Glory will play some of Madness’s greatest hits. Another highlight will be the Kinx tribute band.
Organiser Fenella Atkinson said: “This is Brackley’s first free, outdoor music festival. It’s creating a lot of interest in the town and surrounding villages. I think it will be a day to remember.”
The festival is a family event and several people will be walking around with placards offering free hugs.
Ms Atkinson added: “We want everyone to come along and have fun. The theme for the whole thing is peace, love and free hugs. We should’ve called it Brackstock.
Now in its 16th year the Brackley Music Festival brings together a wide variety of musical genres from rock to classic.
Another new addition to the fortnight will be day of folk music in Brackley Park this Sunday.
