A new Open Mic night has started up for singers and songwriters in Buckingham.

The acoustic night takes place every Sunday at Number 13 High Street, from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.

The regular event is the brainchild of professional musician Gwyn Ashton, who lives in Milton Keynes.

Australian Gwyn, who runs blues guitar workshops, said: “The whole idea of music is to share it and encourage new people. It’s an opportunity to meet new people and play with others and help promote the local music industry.”

And he added: “The first gig I ever did in England was at the Grand Junction in ’96.”
