A MUSIC festival raised hundreds of pounds for Brackley based charity on Saturday.

The Manor Farm Music Festival in Ardley was planned as a one-off alternative to the annual St Edburg’s Ladies Day, but could become a more regular event.

The event was raising money for the Brackley Creative Activities of the Elderly, which brings arts, crafts and music to care homes, and the Northants children’s music therapy charity Thomas’s Fund. A total of 10 bands took part in the event, many of which practice in Brackley; including Scarecrow, Fork Handles and The Kevin O’Regan Band, and Calico Blue.

Fran Maksinski, who organised the festival with her husband John, said: “It was intended as a one-off for charity, but we’ve had so many people asking another one might not be out of the question.”
