Milton Keynes City Orchestra – the city’s own professional orchestra – will be Stantonbury Campus Theatre for the second in its series of ‘Chamber Roots’ concert on Saturday, March 19.
Under the baton of principal conductor Sian Edwards, the programme includes three works by Piazzolla, whose music revolutionised traditional tango.
Bachianas Brasileiras No 9 by Villa Lobos fuses baroque styles with Brazilian folk music, and Yamaha String Scholar Yoshika Masuda, from Australia, will be performing CPE Bach’s lively and lyrical Cello Concerto. The programme also features two Divertimenti by Mozart, and Albinoni’s Oboe Concerto No 2 performed by principal oboist Graham Salter.
